Public Equities

IMCO's public equities portfolio is designed to generate long-term growth and sustained capital appreciation for our clients. To achieve this, we combine passive broad market exposure with selective active investments to balance risk and capture opportunities in dynamic markets.

Our passive investment strategy tracks a market benchmark to reduce risk and ensure efficient liquidity, while our active investment strategy is designed to generate excess returns in areas where active management has historically outperformed the market or where we have a competitive advantage. This includes our team's deep expertise in underwriting and structuring transactions alongside a uniquely collaborative approach that's central to how we invest.

The active strategy consists of four specialized components:

Factor Investing
We build diversified exposure to proven factors such as quality, value, momentum and low volatility, factors which have consistently delivered market outperformance over time.

Fundamental Equities
We invest directly in high-quality companies with resilient business models and strong competitive positions. Our approach ranges from liquid public investments to our "Fundamental+" approach which includes taking large ownership stakes, sometimes with board representation, to support long-term value creation.

External Partnerships
We collaborate with specialized managers who can tolerate heightened investment complexity and offer local expertise in different geographies.

Portfolio Completion
This program helps manage unintended concentrations and ensures our public equities exposure remains aligned with IMCO's total fund risk profile.

Ultimately, all our portfolios are designed to gain deliberate exposure to high-conviction sectors and themes. At times, our capital also serves as a strategic catalyst by supporting a company's growth through acquisitions or by broadening its shareholder base to drive strong returns.
