Hrvoje Lakota

As Managing Director, Portfolio Construction, Hrvoje leads IMCO's Portfolio Construction & Strategic Asset Allocation ("SAA") team and IMCO's Investment Research & Economics team. Under Hrvoje’s leadership, these teams provide SAA advisory services to IMCO's clients and conduct strategic investment and economic research.

Hrvoje has more than 25 years of experience, including investment consulting, asset allocation advice, and portfolio management.

Prior to joining IMCO, Hrvoje was a Partner at Mercer Global Investment Canada Limited. During his tenure at Mercer, Hrvoje worked with their largest clients and institutional investors, including pension plans and insurance companies. His roles included developing, delivering, and implementing portfolio construction advice, leading various aspects of investment advisory services, including SAA, asset-liability modelling, investment strategy and policy formulation, performance monitoring and evaluation. During his tenure, he also developed and launched an investment solution targeted for clients with closed and frozen pension plans. Hrvoje led Mercer's Canadian Funding Specialists Group and Mercer's Canadian Institutional Fund Risk Group.

Hrvoje graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a CFA Charterholder.
