The Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) announced today that Patrick De Roy has been appointed to the newly created position of Senior Managing Director, Total Portfolio and Capital Markets.

With over 20 years of experience as a portfolio manager and investment advisor, Mr. De Roy was most recently Head of Global Research at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where he also led portfolio construction, economics and currency management. Prior to that, he was a Partner and Investment Practice Leader at Eckler Ltd. Previously, he held senior management roles with leading investment and consulting firms throughout his career.

Mr. De Roy reports to IMCO’s Chief Investment Officer, Jean Michel and will be based in IMCO’s Toronto office.

“Patrick is uniquely qualified to drive the creation of IMCO’s Total Portfolio and Capital Markets Group”, said Mr. Michel. “His deep expertise across functions, including asset allocation, foreign exchange management, liquidity, leverage, management of public market alternatives and fixed income, made him a clear choice to lead this team.”

Mr. De Roy is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and holds Bachelors’ in Actuarial Science from Laval University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA). An active member of the investment management community, he has served on various industry-related boards and committees.
