IMCO Enriches Total Portfolio & Capital Markets Team with Chief Strategist Appointment

Nick Chamie will lead active asset allocation, currency management and fixed income strategies.

TORONTO (June 1, 2020) – The Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) announced today that Nick Chamie has been appointed to Chief Strategist. In this role, Mr. Chamie will lead several investment strategies within the Total Portfolio and Capital Markets Group, including the Active Asset Allocation, Currency Management and Government Fixed Income teams.

Mr. Chamie has more than 25 years of experience in portfolio management, trading, and research. He has held senior leadership roles with leading financial institutions, including Chief Strategist and Global Head for FX Strategy and Emerging Markets Fixed Income Trading and Research at RBC Capital Markets and Chief Investment Officer, International Wealth Management and Pensions at Scotiabank. Most recently, Mr. Chamie was the Senior Portfolio Manager at the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), where he led the FX team’s strategic hedging, tactical overlay, and overall investment strategy activities.

Mr. Chamie holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He will report to Patrick De Roy, IMCO’s Senior Managing Director, Total Portfolio and Capital Markets Group, and will be based at IMCO’s Toronto office.
