IMCO joins the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative (PAII) on Climate Action
PAII is a sub-sector member of GFANZ (Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero), which includes over 450 financial institutions representing assets of more than $130 trillion across 45 countries
TORONTO (November 8, 2021) – IMCO is pleased to announce that it has joined the growing list of asset owners who have committed to achieve net-zero alignment by 2050 or sooner.
Established in May 2019, the PAII supports asset owners and managers globally to implement action in line with the Paris Agreement goals, including supporting commitments through the PAII Net Zero Investment Framework.
By joining the PAII, IMCO is also becoming part of the U.N. Race to Zero and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero.
Commenting on its latest climate-positive move, Rossitsa Stoyanova, Chief Investment Officer of IMCO said: “We are committed to playing our part in the design of a new financial system that can secure a net-zero future for the world and help build a stronger, more resilient, and sustainable global economy. Joining the PAII is an obvious step for us as we continue to evolve and shape our long-term strategy to align ourselves with the goals and targets of the Paris Climate Accords.”
IMCO is also a founding participant of Climate Engagement Canada and a signatory of the Canadian Investor Statement on Climate Change and the 2021 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis.
