Chief Client Officer

Sofia Assaf is the Chief Client Officer and is responsible for leading and overseeing IMCO’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) function at IMCO.

As the Chief Client Officer, Sofia provides strategic leadership and oversight of strategic asset allocation advisory services, investment, risk and financial reporting delivery, client experience and servicing, and client growth strategy and business development activities. Sofia is also responsible for driving the client success objectives of IMCO’s strategic business plan and working with the broader leadership team to foster a client centric culture across the organization.

Sofia co-Chairs the Client Portfolio Management (CPM) committee at IMCO responsible for overseeing strategic asset allocation recommendations and investment transition plans for clients, in addition to other strategic client matters, including new product development.

Sofia joined IMCO in July 2018 and has over 20 years of experience advising and partnering with clients in the institutional investment industry. Prior to IMCO, Sofia was the Director of Client Consulting and a Senior Investment Consultant at a global investment consulting firm, where she served as lead advisor to large public and corporate pension and insurance funds, endowments and non-profit organizations for 14 years. Sofia has also previously worked at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa, in the Market Analysis and Oversight group of the Financial Markets Department.

Sofia holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Investments from the University of Toronto. She is a CFA Charterholder and holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
