Sustainable Investing
At IMCO, sustainable investing is synonymous with responsible,
long-term investing.
Our mandate is to generate the returns our clients require to meet their long-term financial obligations. Therefore, a long-term focus is not only necessary to align with our clients’ investment horizon, it is one of our strategic advantages.
Since IMCO's formation, sustainable investing has been core to our approach as we firmly believe that environmental, social and governance factors can help us manage business risks and pursue opportunities to ensure the long-term viability of clients' assets.
IMCO's Sustainable Investing Policy documents key principles, beliefs, priorities and guidelines underpinning our approach to the incorporation of sustainability considerations.

2023 Sustainability Highlights
Our Net Zero Commitment
As a global investor, we recognize the urgency of climate change and the systemic risks it poses to society and the global economy. We also recognize that the transition to a net zero economy presents investment opportunities.
In 2022, we made the following net zero commitments that are consistent with targets set in the 2016 Paris Agreement. Read our Climate Action Plan for more details on our pathway to net zero, definitions and climate strategy.
Evolving our Sustainable Investing Strategy
Building on three years of work to set our foundation as a sustainable investor, IMCO refreshed our strategy in 2024 to further refine our approach and define our focus areas. The new strategy is a natural evolution of the beliefs, principles and ambitions we have established over the years. It is designed to concentrate our efforts on areas where we can have the most impact as a global institutional investor, while leveraging our competitive advantages.
The new strategy is anchored on three main pillars:
We enable our investment teams to do their best work with decision-useful tools, data and insights. We monitor and consider trends, emerging issues and leading-edge sustainability practices and translate them into portfolio initiatives.
We pursue and capitalize on long-term opportunities that contribute to investment returns while having a positive impact on society and our planet.
We leverage our expertise and governance rights to drive progress and support our portfolio companies and assets in embedding sustainability to create value. We amplify our reach and voice through select partnerships, coalitions and policy engagement.
